What's up with the spam comments lately?  Previously, most spam in my pending comments was gushing with ebullient comments about the quality of the information on this site.  Now I'm seeing a hilarious, backhanded turn:

I do agree with all the ideas you have introduced in your post.
They are very convincing and will certainly work. Nonetheless, the posts
are too brief for beginners. Could you please extend them a little
from subsequent time? Thanks for the post.

And:

I believe everything posted was very logical. However, what about this?
suppose you were to write a killer headline?
I ain't suggesting your information isn't solid, however suppose you added a
title that grabbed folk's attention? I mean The Truly Free Credit Report - Don't Quit Your Day Job...
is kinda plain. You ought to peek at Yahoo's home page and see how they create post headlines to get people to click.

And:

I was wondering if you ever thought of changing the structure of
your website? Its very well written; I love what youve got to say.
But maybe you could a little more in the way of content so people could connect with it better.
Youve got an awful lot of text for only having one or
two images. Maybe you could space it out better?

Well, I've got answers for you bots: No, no and... no.  And on that last one - well, there are plenty of blogs which have better clip art than thoughts!

Links we liked!

    • Free By 50 - NOT a fan of tiny houses.  Neither are we, for the record - build a shed then improve it, folks.  It costs ~ $4,000.  Surely you can get insulation, electrical and plumbing into your shed for less than $53,000.
    • Always nice to see Bret at Hope to Prosper posting - he shares his wisdom on the creeping expense of life.
    • Speaking of life, JT tossed up a post onto his zombie blog about, wait for it, not keeping up with the Joneses.  Worth a click to see his jalopy!
    • Dateline: Costco.

Funny About Money on ennui in the giant store

      ...

    • Ironman at Political Calculations has a huge post on the charts which explain the VA scandal - where has the money been going?
    • Len Penzo channels Curt Schilling and gives us 38 rules to follow to be rich.  Do half the list, you'll still probably pull it off - great stuff!
    • MMM @ SSS shares a 'deep think' question that showed up in a business interview.  We've gotten these types of "just get it in the ballpark" type questions at a number of interviews - and, seemingly, most interviewers love asking about golf balls... "How many golf balls would fit in a 747?  The Empire State Building?  In Lake Michigan?".  Well - none from me.  Gambling is illegal at Bushwood, and I never slice!
    • Evn at My Journey to Millions does a deep dive and shares his criteria for investing in dividend stocks.  Epic post!  (And yes, Evan, I think the calculator this week may be perfect for your research!)
    • NELSON AT FINANCIAL UPROAR DID A LISTICLE.  (It's about mistakes investors make.  Soon I'll do some list posts - they are addictive, I tell ya.)
    • From Afford Anything: "You can't Scrooge your way to freedom." Which is true - Scrooge was a rich guy, happened to be a bit of a selfish dude.  He, however, didn't get rich from the selfishness.  Go watch the Muppets' Christmas Carol if you don't believe me.  Or, you know, have a Dickensian afternoon - be my guest.
