Wish I could quote you folks some new, hilarious, spam... but all the recent spam has been so polite!

Woah! I'm really digging the template/theme of this website.
It's simple, yet effective. A lot of times
it's difficult to get that "perfect balance" between superb usability and visual appearance.
I must say that you've done a awesome job with this. Additionally,
the blog loads very quick for me on Firefox. Exceptional Blog!

Why thank you, I've put a lot of effort into this template/theme.  Unfortunately it's a template/theme you'll have to buy from these folks Mr. Spammer.

In other news, the graphics card has been coming along nicely - I've got a project log, but you'll have to go off site to find it.  Here's the VGAtonic log.

Even with that, can't get enough PK?  Remember I'm on a podcast too, find me at Stacking Benjamins!

  • Hey look, an adverse ruling for the NCAA in that whole antitrust case brought by Ed O'Bannon.  Of course, $5,000 a year maximum is a pittance - I made more than that annually as an engineer in college.  And the only brain cells I was killing were by choice when I swallowed my drinks.  Let's call this what it is: a good start.
  • Len Penzo, consistently good and on point in blog posts and in life choices, has a post about the payoff for patience when it comes to your personal finances.
  • Sigh - Bay Area home prices (sure, we're happy "we got ours", but these will be hard to sustain).  Here's Burbed on price to income ratios, and here's the keys to actually winning a house here from the comments.
  • Some more numbers on Bay Area housing (and renting) from Daily Capital - although we would argue Silicon Valley includes San Jose and Milpitas and doesn't just stop when Santa Clara does.  Interesting too that Oakland median rents are approaching San Jose's of a few years prior!
  • Cashville Skyline asks if monetizing a blog is selling out.  We tend to agree that Adsense isn't selling out (of course, who are we to talk with our two ad blocks?), but we'd agree that if you've got 'debt' in your title and find yourself reviewing a ton of credit cards you've got a bit of a morality conundrum there you'll have to work out with yourself.  I can imagine someone looking to handle his or her debt finding a debt article on the site, perhaps an early post where the debt blogger still had debt - and seeing a bunch of credit card articles on the sidebar.
  • Speaking of morals, the king of ethics, Nelson at Financial Uproar, posted 15 unethical life hacks for you to read and enjoy.
  • Just remember, JT at Money Mamba called it first: the bubble in digital trading cards.
  • Sandi Martin has a nice piece on the role of robo-advisors in the investment advisor market.  We agree - and we also like Target Date Funds for our less-informed friends who want to get into the investing habits.  Look: if you truly believe you're one of the 1-3% of people who might be able to possibly beat the market, you can always move the money.
