The DQYDJ Weekender, 9/1/2012

Posted By PK    Last updated September 1st, 2012 4 Comments

Wow, is it September Already?

So I drafted in the only Fantasy Football league I’m participating in.  It’s a 10 man, and I was the guy who went with the MJD/Rashad Jennings handcuff (risk tolerance: extreme!).  Anyone want to grade my draft for a 10 person league?  (I’ve come in second two years in a row; be harsh!)

Matthew Stafford, Det QB
Jamaal Charles, KC RB
Rashad Jennings, Jac RB
Frank Gore, SF RB
Marques Colston, NO WR
Percy Harvin, Min WR
Antonio Gates, SD TE
Ravens D/ST D/ST
Stephen Gostkowski, NE K
Maurice Jones-Drew, Jac RB
Antonio Brown, Pit WR
Lance Moore, NO WR
Titus Young, Det WR
LeGarrette Blount, TB RB
Rashard Mendenhall, Pit RB
Carson Palmer, Oak QB

Looks a lot like one of my teams this year, minus the MJD/Jennings combo. Love Stafford, Titus Young and Antonio Brown. Gates should be solid too, if he doesn’t stub his toe this year. Mendenhall could be great value, if that’s where you drafted him. I’ll give you a “what were you thinking” on the Blount and Palmer picks. Sounds like Charles will be splitting pretty evenly with Hillis, who will probably end up taking all the TDs.

I tried to draft David Wilson in all three leagues, but only got him in one of them. I think he’ll be the stud rookie, especially once Bradshaw the band-aid goes down.

Haha, can’t defend Palmer. Fellow alum.

Blount pick was a bet that the rookie might not shine and there’ll be a bunch of Blount anyway.

I’m definitely worried about Charles with Hillis hanging out, so Gore probably moves into my RB #2. We got lucky with MJD eh? Breaking news: lockout over.

Speaking as a Bay Area refugee, The Burbed link is worthwhile. Million-dollar crappy homes, indeed. I love that line “‘original charm’ just means [the home] has neve been updated. Ever.”

We miss you here, and I love the area – but 7 figures really doesn’t go that far.
